7 Inch
7 inch round headlights are the most common sealed beam size on American and European classics from the 1950s through the late 1970s. Vehicles that use this size include the Ford Mustang (1965–1968), Chevrolet Camaro (1967–1969), Volkswagen Beetle, Ford Fairlane, Ford F-100 pickup, and most Jeep CJ models, among many others. Upgrading to LED replaces the original sealed beam with a purpose-built LED lens and bulb assembly that drops into your existing headlight bucket — no wiring modifications required. The result is dramatically brighter output, a proper beam cutoff line for oncoming traffic, and a lifespan measured in years rather than seasons. Each kit is hand-assembled in Texas and individually tested before it ships, so what arrives at your door has been verified by a real person, not pulled off a mass production line. When choosing a kit, look for three things: an H4 Hi/Lo beam design so you retain both high and low beams, a housing built to the 7 inch round standard so it sits flush in the original bucket, and a beam pattern calibrated for right-hand traffic. Our kits are designed specifically for vintage vehicles — not repurposed truck or off-road LEDs — so beam pattern and fitment reflect what classic car restorers actually need. The 7 inch round sealed beam was the standard headlight size on a wide range of American and European vehicles from the 1950s through the 1970s. Common fitments include the Ford Mustang (1965–1968), Chevrolet Camaro (1967–1969), Volkswagen Beetle, Ford Fairlane, Ford F-100 pickup, and most Jeep CJ models. This is not an exhaustive list — use our Will It Fit? guide or contact us if you don’t see your vehicle listed. Will a 7 inch LED kit fit without cutting wires or modifying my car? Yes. All of our 7 inch LED headlight kits are plug-and-play for standard 7 inch sealed beam applications. They install directly into the original headlight bucket using your existing wiring connector and retaining hardware — no drilling, splicing, or relays required in most applications. See the individual product pages for any vehicle-specific notes. What’s the difference between the VC3500, VCm3, and VC5000 kits? All three are complete 7 inch LED retrofit kits, but they differ in output level, beam pattern refinement, and price point. The VCm3 is our entry point, the VC3500 Classic adds a period-correct aesthetic with improved brightness, and the VC5000 Ultimate is the highest-output kit with the most refined beam pattern. See the full model comparison for a side-by-side breakdown. Will LED headlights work on my 6-volt car? Yes. Our VC6v line is purpose-built for pre-1960 vehicles with 6-volt electrical systems. No voltage converter needed. Are these street legal in the U.S.? Our headlights are glass H4 E-code spec, which exceeds European and Canadian standards for street use. The U.S. DOT has never adopted the H4 European standard, so all H4 headlights sold in the U.S. must be designated “for offroad use only.” Compliance with local laws is the buyer’s responsibility.
