Description
The VC4000 ULTIMATE is one of our best Headlight. It has the second sharpest HI/LO beam cutoff of all of our products and the HI beam throw is matched only by modern projection headlights.
This headlight delivers unparalleled output without sacrificing any of the classic OEM look.

The VC4000 is able to accomplish this by placing the surface mounted diodes in a way that exactly duplicates the location of the filaments in a Halogen bulb.
This allows the VC4000 Ultimate to have the best beam pattern possible while still taking advantage of all taking advantage of all the benefits intrinsic to an LED bulb.

We have also been able to eliminate the need for a moving fan by using an adjustable passive heatsink and locating the electronic components away from the LED in their own assembly that is that is highly resistant to water, shock, dust and vibrations due to the components being embedded in silicone.
Each kit includes two assembled Glass H4 DOT spec 7″ housings with 2 LED bulbs.

The lights came quickly as described. I had installed conventional headlights in my 1967 VW Microbus before and these were just as easy to install. They are much brighter in my garage than the previous lights. I will try them on the road when the snow melts and the salt is gone.

cannot believe youhave asked for a review after not responding to my emails no pics sent after being promised .found on another website the orientation of the bulb to the separate flange. now i need to go to a garage to focus the bulb because i apear to blind on coming drivers even on dip.

Excellent product. Not as easy to install as i had hoped, but that was due to my old rusty headlight assembly. The LED is bright and has definitely improved the safety of my bug. The lights came with a small plastic bad containing 2 rectangular pieces of cardboard, some zip ties and a small, bent piece of metal rod. Not sure what that’s for and there were no instructions.

I installed these on my 1971 Chevelle. They were very easy to install and did not need any adjustment. The difference was phenomenal! Very impressive.

I just installed them in a Beck 550 Spyder. The existing lights that were in the car were very dim and I worried driving at night. Although I have not driven the car yet because I installed them over the weekend, they are very bright in my garage. The fit and quality was good. Price was fair. Delivery was timely. What else can you ask for?

I installed these in my 1969 Camaro. Completely plug and play and were about 2-3 times brighter than my Sylvania Silverstars. No messing with relay harnesses to gain brighter lights, just plug these in and go. They fit the stock GM housing with their rubber boot without issue. Make sure you do not rotate the bulb in the housing (and if you do) make sure you rotate it correctly so there is a hotspot otherwise you run the risk of throwing your low beams everywhere. All said and done the Vintage Car LED team have a great product at a great price that should give years of service and brightness. I love them and drive my Camaro any chance I get everywhere and these will simply enable me to drive it more and safer.

I ordered the VC4000 7in headlights for my 70 VW beetle. I have LED on my Tundra and where I live it’s a lot of back roads so I need good lighting for the bug as well. They were easy to install and they shine almost as bright as my trucks headlights. I’m very statisfied with the product so far. I wish I could post a photo of what they look like driving at night.

I have had only one occation to use the headlights but the VC4000 7 INCH LED HEADLIGHT KIT seems to work well. On my 62 VW Double Cab, I had to make a modification to the headlight holder to allow the headlight vertical azis to be aligned properly. I believe this modification requirement was due to the design of my headlight holder and not in the VC4000s

I purchased these LED headlights to replace the old and yellowish halogen headlights on my 1951 Pontiac Chieftain. Headlights are awesome, roads are much clearer and night driving much safer. These LED headlights are about 2 inches longer than the original headlight and required some cutting into the headlight bucket for a proper fit. Give yourself about an hour to hour and half for each side…you’ll be glad you did!! Happy cruising!!

Wow! Rarely am I as impressed with the quality, price, customer service and follow up as I am with the LED headlights for my 86’ CJ7. From the glass lenses to the seamless alignment to the factory ballasts, I could not be more pleased. Lamp unit is solidly built, installation is straightforward, and customer service has been stellar.
Totally recommend Matt, Thomas and the Vintage Car LED team. Totally satisfied and new loyal customer here!

Like a many rural communities living in rural Northern California night driving means looking out for critters. My old ’75 VW headlights were worthless at spotting anything far enough away to brake in time. My VC4000’s are so bright I think that they are warning off deer etc. before they step in front of the vehicle. I don’t mind if a deer freezes in the headlights if they are off to the side of the road. Highway sign reading has improved 100% too.
Customer service with Vintage Car LED is exemplary…Matts’ and Thomas’ experience helped me identify a discrepancy in a non-OEM light bucket causing me an adjustment problem from a few pictures they had me take of my installation. Completely satisfied with the product and the customer support so far.

I will use these lights on any vehicle they will fit on. An amazing product with great customer service!

These were a phenomenal upgrade. I replaced a pair of H4 bulbs that were fairly bright and a good pattern. The LEDs are white compared to yellow but they are so much brighter both on low and high. Still dialing in the adjustment as the lens is different than the European spec lenses I had before. This install was on my ’71 VW bus and certainly plan on putting them in my ’70 MGB. Installation was a breeze, plenty of room in the headlight buckets for the wiring. Pretty much plug and play. Happily tossed the window sticker they provided on a rear side window, a product I am pleased to endorse.

Max, thanks for the review! I have a ’71 bus as well, let us know if you need any assistance on aiming.

These lights are a terrific upgrade from the standard headlights on my ‘68 Ghia. The light output is brilliant white and much more powerful than stock. Well worth the cost for the safety and security of being able to see and be seen! Installation was straightforward and the crew at vinatagecarleds.com is helping fix an issue with my high/low beam relay. They have gone above and beyond to make sure that their product was top quality and performs as expected. Great lights from a great company.

Haven’t had a chance to install but great response to my purchase to get lamps here. Truly an unmet need. Can’t wait to install and finally SEE at night

I have not used the product yet. I am still waiting on a substitute lamp type that will fit my car. I’m hoping to receive the alternate product soon. Still being patient, but…………..

I ordered these for my ’72 TR6. Although the car was not listed in the application data, the owner at VintageCarLEDs verified via email that he had installed them in TR6s himself, which was very helpful.
Installation was simple. The wiring harness is rather large and was a bit fiddly to get tucked behind the light, but it fit and everything went back together just fine. Aside from that, they are iterally plug and play.
The amount of light is fantastic–just so much better than stock and much easier than installing a relay to run halogens. I am considering this upgrade on my old Ford pickups and my Mustang as well.
Scott Shumway (verified owner) –
Installed in a 1966 Austin Healey. Much improved lighting, probably at least 3x better lumens than what I had originally. Had to drill out the backs of the headlamp cone to accommodate the wiring. Took maybe 3 hours to do the work — mainly to figure out how to best run wiring, reseal and re-aim lamps.

product is great, I only wish would be the lens on the standard 7″was a little bit more curved like the original lens is, maybe if I would have upgraded to the better lens it would be different with more curve to it, but anyway I am pleased with my purchase easy to install and work way better than stock headlights, great product

Lamps are definitely brighter and current draw is less. Win/win. The beam isn’t as sharp as a projector, but better than the old sealed beams. The challenge is what to do with the ballast and connectors that come with them. On the first install I couldn’t get same to fit in the bucket behind the lamp so I cut the factory connector off, enlarged the hole in the bucket to accommodate the connector, and rewired everything behind the bucket. I tried calling the number on the shipping label to see if that’s what was intended but got no answer. On the second lamp, I managed to wrestle everything in place inside the bucket. It was much faster, but felt like I was squishing the wires to do so. They took quite a bit of adjustment to aim them properly.

Excellent products fits my 68 Shelby gt350 with absolutely no mods . Now I can drive a night on the highway again!!! I’ll be buying them for my 65 riviera gs as well

Quality product – dramatic improvement over stock headlights for my 1966 mustang. They look like OEM, they are reasonably priced and were easy to install. Before you tighten everything up, just make sure that you rotate the headlight so the vertical lines are up/down, otherwise the light pattern will be off. Best value in an LED headlight

Very good product this is my second set I’ve bought very bright and quality product

These are perfect for our older Porsches. I have an original ’71 914-6 and these lights look great and really light up the dark without offending on-coming drivers.
James Carniato (verified owner) –
No more dull yellow headlights for me. These lights are better in every way.
They are much brighter and the clean white light really illuminates the road.
I had to use a hole saw on my inner pot but no mods were needed to the actual pot that’s bolted to the fender.
I’ve just returned from a 2,000 mile trip and these lights made night driving a pleasure.
One more thing,,, my car (56 Caddy) has a generator. These lights don’t go dimmer at an idle. Also, the low draw of the LED’s should reduce potential problems with wireing, dimmer switches and light switches etc.

Got the German Hella lens and absolutely love these lights. Put them in my 57 Thunderbird … had each installed within 5 min max. Fit perfectly, and WOW … these lights really light up the road at night. Since the old halogens were really poor, had to re-aim these after the install … but followed the instructions and they work great. Nobody really even notices that they aren’t the original sealed beams … you really have to look to see the difference. Nice Job Matt and company!!!!

Fast and secure shipping. Got them installed on my ’57 pickup. Look great, but haven’t powered up, wiring not yet complete. I’m sure they’ll look great when turned on, and if not Matt will make it right. Thanks again. tk

These Hella LED lights are hella great. They fit perfect in my 66 Bug’s light buckets and they look great off and on. Driving at night feels so much safer, especially because I can see the rough roads which sneak up on my lowered car.

It’s really rare that I write a review, but I figured with the time saved, I’d spend it on writing one.
Installed these on my retrofitted single round front setup on my 84 Volvo 245. I have never had an easier install when retrofitting parts, ever. These with the Hella lenses literally dropped in, with the exact notches to clock properly. Spun the enclosure to hold them in place, connected the 3 pin wiring, and they just worked.
They look plenty bright, and I’m sure I’ll need to level them, but you can’t ask for much more. Highly highly recommend these as a full setup to anyone looking to retrofit LEDs.

I installed the VC4000 7 inch Hella lens on my 1955 Ford Thunderbird. The installation was straightforward and fit perfectly. As far as alignment I couldn’t back up the required 25 feet but I remembered the last time I had my old lights on the left was fine but the right was high. I pulled up close to the wall and turned them on. The low beams showed the right to be a little high but the bright beam was way high. I lowered the angle to equal the left and called it a day. Before installing the VC4000’s I turned the old halogen lights on for comparison, wow what a difference 😎.

Love’m, but I’d love’m even more if the lens was rounded instead of flat.

I ordered these delights for my 1975 Triumph TR6 and they came promptly in the mail as advertised. When I went to install them I realized the transformer for the LED light wouldn’t work with my headlight configuration on the TR6. I called VintageCar and they promptly sent me the right bulbs that would work for my cars configuration. They also sent a return box for the incorrect bulbs. I can’t speak highly enough about the quality of the product in the awesome customer sevixe. These guys have it totally dialed in on the product/customer service side of things. I’d use them again for my next classic car restoration.
